ICE-25 Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker
Review

The ICE-25 Cuisinart ice cream maker is made to look like an old-fashioned bucket-style machine. Inside, it's anything but old-fashioned.

Although it looks like a bucket and has a handle, both are either white or brushed chrome, so you’d never confuse this for an antique machine. And underneath the more expensive styling, this machine isn't all that different from the ICE-20.

In other words, it makes fairly good ice cream and is very simple to use. Once your gel-canister is pre-frozen, you place it in the bucket, insert the paddle, add the ingredients, close and turn it on.

The gel-canister and paddle are easy to clean. The grooved bucket-like exterior isn't as easy to wipe clean as the smooth ICE-20 model, although it isn't hard to do.

As with other gel-canister electric ice cream makers, you have to let the canister freeze long enough or you won't get good results.

Features:

  • Large ingredient spout for adding ingredients

  • Easy-lock transparent lid

  • Limited 3-year warranty

  • Recipe book included

While most people who buy this machine are pleased with it (it gets a 4 out of 5 star rating among Amazon.com reviewers, for example), we'd recommend the ICE-20 as a better buy, unless you really must have the pseudo-bucket styling.
